Proficiency in Throwing and Scaling Up, September 20th

$90.00

Ezra Lavinsky is teaching a throwing demo and workshop on Saturday, September 20th from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at his studio! With 30 years of experience as a part-time potter, he has had the privilege of learning from masters like Tom Coleman, Danny Meisinger, and Steven Hill. This experience has allowed his work to grow and flourish.

The demo will start at 9:00 a.m. sharp. After lunch you will be able to take turns practicing the new techniques you’ve discovered. This workshop focuses on the effective movement of clay, addressing common issues like "Why can't I ever seem to get the clay out of the bottom of the pot?" and "Why do I struggle with larger amounts of clay?"

We will explore the dynamics of moving clay in different sizes and discuss ergonomic techniques for using the potter’s wheel, aimed at extending your pottery practice. While the workshop isn't centered on specific forms, discussions about any particular form are encouraged. Potters of all levels are welcome to attend.

The cost is $90 for the day, practice clay is included. We plan on walking to the nearby Superb Bar & Grill for lunch, however, you are welcome to bring your own lunch. We are limiting this demo to 10 participants, so sign up soon! Join us to enhance your skills and deepen your understanding of clay movement.
