2-Day Workshop on Saturday, October 25th and Sunday, October 26th, 2025, from 9:00 a.m to 3:00 p.m. each day.
Join us for a hands-on workshop where you can learn to create lidded pagoda-style boxes from clay! Our instructor, Karen van Barneveld, has extensive experience in ceramics, having spent over twenty-two years learning, absorbing, and teaching fine art ceramics.
During this two-day workshop, you will discover new techniques to enhance your ceramics skills while making beautiful lidded boxes. You can choose to create boxes in various shapes and sizes by hand-building them from firm slabs of clay. Participants can opt to construct either a four-sided or five-sided lidded container, styled as a pagoda or a traditional lidded box.
After the boxes are bisque-fired, you can pick them up to glaze at home. The workshop will be held at Heather Nelson’s studio in Prescott, and there is a limit of 15 participants. The fee is $125, which includes all materials. We hope to see you there!
